Lynda - Madmax here... Thanks for the links! Bad thoughts are entering my head now...!! Shame none of these suggestions can be worn out! Shirls has a cracking figure and maybe such outfits would be well suited to my beliefs as well!!
Madmax and Lynda .. actually, thanks for the hijack, because I just found my "missing" length of satin on eBay ~ for half the price I paid in that shop yesterday.

This year I dont have to worry about OH work's do as its at lunch time for staff only, but I can join for drinks after ( that means non alcholic so I can drive him home but would have to go on the train.) Last year I bought a lovely dark red dress got it home and found a small flaw in it thought about taking it back as no one else would notice it, anyway was looking in the shop for something else the next day and it was reduced so I went home got it and took it back and swapped it for one without a flaw and got a refund which meant I could afford the little jacket that went with it.

Gosh - that's lovely! What a nice and Christmassly heartwarming thing to do!
We have to go to about three balls a year for work reasons (used to be ten, but we cut back!), and they tend to be good fun once there. We now turn them into a mini-break and stay in nice hotel, see the city etc. and I LOVE the getting ready too!
Once we had to go to Durham for one and the traffic was slooow because of terrible weather, and I was so worried about not having time to wash and do my hair once there, that I very nearly just stuck my head out of the window to try to wash it in the rain. The rain was THAT heavy and we were THAT late...
Have a great time tomorrow night! Let's see a piccie of you all done up to the nines!
