  • Is the myth true?

    I don't think so.

When I first started on this lark of allotmenterisation, many people laughingly said that I were a bit young for this mallarky. Yet I'm pretty sure there are quite high numbers of "young 'uns" allotmenteering (granted, lots won't be on here on that there witch craft tinternet).

I know it's rude to ask a lady, but I thought I'd see if we could do an age poll.

Edit: I'm 32 by the way.

I fall into the 26-35 bracket (yay) but OH comes into the next one. I do most of the work so I've answered the poll.
I think it's def becoming 'the' hobby for people of my age. My parents used to when they had us as small children but don't do it now.

What's the myth or did I miss that bit somewhere?

janeyo- 33 but normally I tell people 29 shhhhhhhhhh

Both me and my hubby fall into the 26-35 bracket, and yes, we get teased quite a lot, not just for the gardening, but because we don't have wild nights out and can't remember the last time we were drunk... but then again, I think of those who do that sort of stuff that surely 30 seems like a good age to get over the teenage antics, so each to their own... Plus, who'd want to spend a warm sunny sunday hung-over indoors while you could be out breathing fresh air down the lottie?

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

I'm 28 and get teased for turning into an "old Biddie before my time", couldn't care less though. Not into drinking & clubbing, love cooking / baking and have discovered a love for gardening after moving into our new house last year. Couldn'y care less what people think - there are a lot worse hobbies!
