Good poll but are there any members who are too shy to vote their age?
Could vote anonymous!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
I'm 38 with half an allotment. So can I claim 19 please?
In that case I'm only 13 and 3/4 like Adrian Mole, as I have a 3-pole plot
I voted in the 36-45 bracket as I only slipped over the upper boundary two weeks ago and my husband is a bit younger that me. I would have had an allotment years ago, but my previous partner wasn't interested in our own garden, let alone extra land.
On our allotments, out of 24 members there are about half a dozen retirees (most of whom have been there for years and tend to have 1.5-2 plots each) - the rest are mostly in the 30-50 age group, I reckon, and typically have half plots or less. About a third of our membership are Chinese, even though that isn't a particularly large ethnic minority in the area!
Im 35, and have just discovered gardening, used to laugh at my poor old mum "messing about" in the dirt and just didnt understand why she did it.
I have now turned into my mother!!!! and i love it, i have a stressful job and working in my garden before and after work just chills me out completely, i started in the pubs and clubs at 15, so ive defo been there and bought more than one T-shirt, friends at work think im a bit mad but dont care!!!
Life isnt about surviving the storm.....But learning to dance in the rain.
voted im 28 but having been dragged up through my nan and grandads veggie plot since i was old enough to shell peas around 7. I think it was ment to be, oh how i miss the easy side of gardening and just putting seeds in pots, being shouted at for running on the seed beds, nicking the raspberries and strawberries before i got caught, then at havest running around scareing little kids with my green fingers after spending a whole afternoon shelling peas beans and destringing runners, its planning, timing, swearing at weather, still love it though

My Dad said I was sad and needed to put my make up on more and get a life. I'm 37. Mind you I've always liked gardening, just bought my house with OH and wanted to put my dreams into effect. Wanted to keep flowers and veg, so have applied for a allotment. I've got 2 cats, a large pond and a wildlife pond so my dreams are coming true. Wouldnt change it for the world
I remember years ago in my early 20's my then boyfriend though I was wierd as Iliked gardening. Mind you he ended up a to***er. I always say what goes around comes around especially in his case.
