I'm 27 and have to admit the major reason why I do not have a lottie is because I think I am too young. Although there a few other factors that are stopping me.

Once 30 has been and gone and I have learnt more then I will consider it again.

      39 in May.

The age range on my site seems to agree with this poll!

All the people involved with the various posts of the committee (which covers all of the town's sites) are older though.

Our site has only 3 of us under 60 (and I'm only just!) My half shares partner is in her late 20s and there's another lady of indeterminate but working age. The rest are retired elderly flat-capped fellas - but they are so friendly. Come to think of it, as far as they're concerned I'm a younger 'bit of fluff'!

I'm 38 this year, but got first allotment at 27.

Most on my new site are retired men, but they won't be using a pootah to vote in your poll

I was 47 and 5/12ths the last time I looked, and Trousers was 47 in February.

I really think your poll is a reflection of people's ease with computers rather than the true age profile of yer average allotment site Wayne. Most of my fellow allotmenteers don't have a computer. They don't half have a green finger or two though!

Yeah, I kinda thought that when writing it. Should be an "average grape age". However, saying "older" people don't use t'internet is a bit like saying "young'uns" don't have allotments.

Considering how long are the waiting lists, if I were you, I'd put my name down for a lottie now! No shame in getting a lottie in your 20's, I can proudly say I applied for mine while still there! (I've hit the big 3-0 since! )

I'm 33 and 3/4 (like Adrian Mole) and OH is 40. We've got a private allotment (one of just 8), and I'm the youngest. I believe the oldest is probably in his 80's (or time hasn't been very kind to him)

Dont really know about my lottie yet, only had it since Jan and its rained ever since so havent met most of my neighbours
