  • Offered: a good night's sleep

Offered: a box of chamomile tea to help you sleep. just post a reply and I'll pick a name out the hat for the tea.

Wanted; some good karma to get the house moving fwd again

(the survey was awful; we need to spend £10k before we can even move in; our offer was not made 'subject to survey' so we aren't hopeful that the vendor will accept a renewed lower offer. We need 10 grand or a miracle please )

A day too late; was up until 5:30 this morning [I think it was that last huge mug of coffee at the italian restaurant yesterday lunchtime - I thought it would have worn off but evidently not].

House buying/moving; eugh. I've moved at least 35 times during my 40 years for many reasons; and we are not moving from here now. Ever. Wishing you the miracle you want. But, it is a buyers market so if the vendor has any sense they will accept.

Indeed it is. If your survey highlighted work that needs doing (would it necessitate a 'retention' on the mortgage advance, not everyone would be able to afford to cover the difference?), then another buyers survey would reveal similar surely?

Send them a copy of the survey with your offer and see what they say. Good luck, if not then there's plenty more places out there.

          you want karma,two sheds
How did you feel when you visited the property, put aside all that needs to be done, did it feel like home,do you find yourself making plans,if so then you will find a way,or has all this made you unsure,in which case nature will take it's course,is it at all possible to go for another viewing, see if you still feel the same about the place.
all the best with what ever your decision, this is a biggy

No, there isn't. We are restricted to this town for various reasons. Most of the town is just awful (bad estates, noisy pubs, rat-runs). Most of the houses we've seen have no parking, no garden, no light, no view. This was the one, but the vendors are being greedy - a bit unrealistic on the price and blind to the state of the property.
OH just can't be bothered with the hassle anymore; but I can see that we won't get anything better and we should keep going.

Err in which case, perhaps they know its 'The One' and are waiting for their price? A property is worth what someone will pay for it. However that doesn't mean the mortgage valuation will agree with the price paid....

...perhaps you could rent for a while, to see what happens to the market?
