I tape it and watch it with my breakfast in bed on saturday morning after my night duty, I still enjoy it and I'm looking forward to Joe's allotment very much.
Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.

Does anybody know what sort of viewing figures it gets these days? It's obvious that most of us aren't that keen anymore but perhaps it's now appealing to a different audience, perhaps less "hands on" gardeners?????? Don't understand but somebody must be watching it otherwise it'd get pulled.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I do not like the GW sort of specials they have had on over the last few weeks but an looking forward to the new series with Joe Swift starting a Lotty.

I am sure someone mentioned on here how it was starting to become like a makeover show and I get a big of that feeling too, that they are now forever trying to change areas.

Surely if you have watched GH, you will know that he started the Garden makeover series type programming as he did Cottage Garden from Scratch and other type series to boot. Also a lot of his GW was about doing new types of Rock garden without knicking limestone and also he did the painted obelisks etc...

This is not new type of programming it is just that there is more available to change the way your garden looks, decking etc... I am all for choice just as long as people are gardening in some way, upto them how they spend their cash whether it on raised beds for Veggies or decking for Entertaining and to cook those veggies on the BBQ.
Anyway to all, keep yor ears open as there is going to be a brand new daytime GW this summer. According to Gardeners World Magazine page 161, it will be with Monty everyday for two months solid and will focus on basic skills, lets hope for some great programming... Could be April fool as it appears in This Months Mag...

GW is on a friday evening, with a weekend ahead it would be better to have 'what you should or could be doing over the weekend in your garden/plot'
A weather report would also be good
          Any shows that are on.
Even help the wildlife type tips.

There is so much to be done this time of year, there must be enough items to make a GARDENING show!

Design etc could be shown in the winter months!!!!

I can't get uktv, not posh enough! Wish I could because Geoff Hamilton was my Guru, so sensible and pleasant. Very helpful advice for people like myself on a tight budget. Rachel DETAme is now modeling the latest gardening clothing and equipment! Has anyone seen it? I will not pass comment myself as I really can't think of anything printable to say.

I think GW has IMO gone downhill fairly rapidly in the last six months or so. I no longer match it religiously, in fact, not much at all now to be honest

I thought GW has been getting a bit boring of last as well. OH wanted to tape something at the same time as GW and I said 'You, can't, GW is on. Oh, well, it doesn't matter.' and MEANT it! The allotment part starts on Friday 11th April BBC 2 at 8pm. Might record it to skip over the boring bits.
You know you're a hard nosed gardener when you pull the weeds from others plots!
