Radio 4, early on Apriil 1st (was it the Today programme?), ran a follow up to the great RSPB garden bird watching thing.
Apparently, because so many finches were found, especially Siskins which come from Scandinavia, cages were going to be issued to everyone who had participated in the survey so they could capture the Siskins which were then going to be 'repatriated' via Terminal 5 at Heathrow..... The programme went into great details on how the cages worked (apparently they looked like bird cages with spring actioned sides). To make it even more realistic they did acknowledge that Terminal 5 might be a problem. (Terminal for the finches I would think!)
Oh I do hope it was a joke.
Read the Telegraph cover to cover but there were so many odd stories we were unsure which was the deliberate one!
