So, me and my family don't get along too well, as some who remember the Mother's Day thread may recall. About 10 years ago my sister disappeared to Spain with her latest consort, never to be heard of again and I've stayed vaguely in touch with her daughter on and off since coming to France.
On line yesterday and suddenly a message pops up that somebody had put a message on Facebook for me. Looked at it and it's my great neice (aged 23, living in Essex) asking whether I'm her Uncle Tony
and how the family is looking for me to get back together again.
So, a few replies back and forth and suddenly, I've got a message from my sister who lives in Southern Spain, down near Gibraltar, she's remarried (poor bugger, he wont last, none of them ever do) but she's obviously happy and so are her kids/grandchildren, all of whom I've now posted messages to on Facebook and had chats with.
Funny old world - and shrinking every minute! No place to hide at all - and for those that remember, my sister feels exactly the same about my Mum, just make sure the stake is still in place every year.
