I need two poorly sick plants

My Pieris was poorly last year, yellowy dull looking leaves. Cured it wiv sum sulphate of Iron.
Is that the sort of thing you mean?

I have a very, very poorly looking Pieris. It's been in a pot, been neglected and all of it's leaves were yellow and wizzened. I've taken it out of it's pot and realised that when I last repotted it, it didn't grow into the new compost. I have taken the original rootball, removed all of the dead leaves (ie ALL of them!!) and now got it soaking in a bowl of water.

Does anyone think it's worth repotting? Has it got any chance or do you think it's completely dead? (it certainly looks it!).

If I repot it, should I trim back the rootball? It's was so solid when I soaked it.

Any help would be gratefully received!
