  • A beautiful day, but ....

I've been kinda stuck indoors all day ..... I could have done soooooo much ....

The fireplace fitter came this morning - only taken 4 months for him to fit me in - and the fireplace looks good - but I missed all the morning sun ....
And because I knew he was coming and I was stuck indoors, I offered loads of stuff on freecycle ..... nobody showed up .... so I missed the afternoon sun too
My son has had loads of his mates round playing footy ..... they've been in and out .... drinks .... food ...... can we can we can we ..... and adding to that I've had all their mums turning up or phoning up with "are you sure you don't mind having my son there?" ...... errr .... they all come here cos they all know they're more than welcome ...... but I haven't been able to sit down for 10 minutes so not got any business work done .....
And I haven't been able to take the dog out either ....

On the plus side, my fireplace is finally fitted, the kids have had a good day (they'll sleep well tonight!) and days like these leave me itching to get something done ...... so tomorrow I'll be out in the garden for a few hours .... loads of potting on and digging to do ........
    GAME ON !!

I too looked longingly out at the days sunshine through the office window. Got home tonight and planted some tom seeds, but that was about all I managed after cooking dinner and doing some other odd bits and bobs.

I was sowing my very first frenchies of the season yesterday - they are dwarf french borlotti and will go under a cloches when they come up - they are germinating in a double glazed conservatory. However, I got hailed on when I was sowing them! Our turn for the sun today - must get off to Ma's and put her some onions in - they are shooting in their little modules. (Ahhh!)

Well hey wayne, we sound very similar, I am too looking longingly out of the window at the nice weather. Unfortunately I only get 1 weekend off in three and this weekend is it. Pesky rain.

Only just got a new plot so no planting for me at mo, but the digging is certainly easier when its dry.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

                              WOOHOO!!!
20ft strip dug over lightly, only a couple of weeds to remove because the ground has been covered with weed control fabric for several months, and 81 onions (mix of red / yellow) planted out - another 20 or so to plant out elsewhere maybe next week - they can survice in pots until then
the ground was still a bit sticky, but workable

some of the peas in the greenhouse look dodgy so i'll get them in teh ground this afternoon .........
