Cats don't bring all their kills home. Only a select few. You will never see or know how much murder your little pussy actually commits.
He'd look even more splendid with bells on

Its not cats my niece has to worry about its her large bedroom window, birds always fly into it it makes a horrific noise, just latley it was a shed they put up in the back garden had its window smashed by a bird.

The only time I've been pleased that my cat has killed anything is when he brought a dead rat into the house.
( not happy it was in the house) but he had clearly had a rough time killing it as he had bites all over his face and one had only just missed his eye.
The neighbours have stopped complaining about him using their garden as a toilet after that ( we think they nest under their decking!)

A previous cat of ours was given a collar and bell when we realised he enjoyed hunting and he actually became a more efficient killing machine with the bell as he moved even more cautiously. Clearly not always the answer!

I have heard of an ultrasonic device you can put on a collar which the birds can hear and fly off- but I don't know if the cat would be able to hear it?? I'm sure if they could it would be cruel to use one- bit like 'chinese torture '( that's not a very pc comment at the moment is it)

That would be a great idea. Although I know dogs are very sensitive to high pitched noises we cant hear. It would be a devil if the cats stopped catching creatures because of the sound emitting from its collar and instead the dogs got a good moggy meal.
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and good with ketchup!
