Solar lights have a capacitor of some description in them - they do not use or contain traditional batteries.

    So... no is your answer!

Actualy I have to disagree with TPeers here - I thought the whole idea of the solar powered battery lights was that they (the batteries) were rechargeable - in fact I remember that when i first got mine I put them in a recharger to give them a head's start.

Obviously if the light in question has only an 'internal cell' and not a battery to store its generated power - then a battery is out of the question.

My guess is that if you dismantle the lights they will reveal a battery as the storage facility - in which case try a kick start with my method!

Are the solar rechargeables likely to be of a 'standard' size though like AA, etc?
