Lakes District Gardens

Can anyone give me the names of some places around the Lakes District, where an Aussie interested in vegetable gardens may get to see a true English Vegetable Garden. Failing that, are there any GYO members in Cumbria who'd like to show off their garden.
It's not me who'll be visiting, but I can guarantee your plants will be safe while he's there.

You could try Hill Top nr Sawrey, Hawkshead - where Beatrix Potter wrote her stories.

There is also Wordsworth House in Cockermouth - would it suprise you to learn that Wordsworth lived there?
