My 'new' car came back from Tesco's on Sunday with a load of timber in it. They are refurbishing the store and when we went in the morning to do our shopping we spotted a skip with a load of wood in it - a quick chat with the gaffer got us permission to skip raid later that day. Must remember to go back for more and to ask about the trolley shelters

I love skips and round here people just dont look at me any more never mind looking strangely! Last year staggered home with 2 dogs (mine!) and a huge double glazed window that was so heavy I had to drag it!!! Then went back for more. As I had already got loads my poor friend has it all residing in her shed waiting for divine insoeration or her brother and his drill to come and help construct cold frames!

My son - yes Mr 6' 8" PhantomVeg, carried a Dalek compost bin through our village by putting it over his head (lid on!) and looking through the ventilation holes. Scary sight!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Years ago I persuaded my kids to help me carry home an old tree trunk that I later got hubby to cement in the ground to grow a clematis up.They've never forgiven me(it was near home and their mates might have seen) and it's often brought up by them-as in 'do you remember when she made us.....',the power of parenthood!Gardening forever- housework whenever

I am really looking forward to embarassing my children - surely one of the perks of parenting?

I once carried my rabbit in an open cardboard box up to the vets and he kept popping his head out and giving passers by a surprise!
And once liberated a conifer that came home with me from uni in wales and my nan still has it in her garden!

A flashing orange street light. One drunken night when I was in Augsburg. Can't remember carrying it home - but I remember waking up next to it.
BTW, Shirlthegirl43 will get me for admitting I was so drunk.Let's go diggin' dirt....
Big silver bird, come land low and slow
Cut your engines, cool your wings,
You've taken me home...

Yesterday I cycled to mum's with 3 large houseplants on the back of my bike, and 2 hanging baskets on the handlebars. I looked like a mobile forest
Carrying ten foot canes on the bike is a laugh ... you have to arrange them lengthways along the bike, bungeed to the frame between your legs, but remember you can't turn corners ...All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

not for the garden but for the kitchen, which is the second place where I spent the most time... a nice flat piece of marble !! I walk about one mile and to be honest, I don't know how I did it !! guess I was so excited that I used my superpower!
someone did ask me if I wanted some help has I was stopping every 5 min...but I refuse...too proud!
I remember my arms felt like elongated and sore for a week after that!
