  • What came before?

Making my Marmite on toast this morning a thought struck me.

What was the best thing before sliced bread?

Our toaster takes a while to toast, I had some time on my hands.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

Surely it was just bread before they realised they could slice it?

Yup me too. I like home made rasp jam and marmite on toast or banana and marmite sandwiches. I'm sure that's why they invented bread! Gave all my lot marmite soldiers when they were babies just to make sure they grew up with good taste! lol

Yuk MARMITE HATE THE STUFF. OH and my daughter love it. I make marmite and cheese twists just get 2 sheets of puff pastry ( I cheat and use ready rolled ) spread with marmite top with cheese put second sheet on top next bit is messy cut into thin strips and twist cook till golden and eat or cool first ideal for picnics packed lunch etc providing you like marmite.

peanut butter, marmite strange one to try next on list.

hmm in regards to marmite, it pretty much goes in most things in my house jacket potato with lots of butter marmite chopped ham and cheese which has been lightly grilled hmmmmm i use it a lot in my spag bols, stews anything with beef in really instead of an oxo cube i know bovil would been the most obvious but come on must not insult the power that is marmite
damn you lot of to make cheese and marmite on toast now
