  • Oil lantern in potting shed?

Now I've got my new potting shed it's not got an electricity supply. I probably won't need power very often but on the odd occasion that I need a little more light I fancy a couple of old-fashioned oil lanterns in there. Does anyone have any experience of them?

Why not use one of those Parazine Heat and Light lamps. They run on parafin and you can use them of local heat with the wick down or light with the wick up. Lasts 7 days of 1/2lt.

Homebase Top end of Purley Way are knocking them out for £3 .

I'd use a rechargable electric lamp, one that you can charge indoors. In my shed I have various oils, petrol etc and just to be safe, use the rechargable electric lamps in case I need light there.

        More expensive but much safer.

Thanks for your suggestions . The storm lantern is a romantic idea, I remember my mum using them in the 70s during powercuts and I fancied using them in the potting shed because I think they'll look great hung up when in use and when not. As Headfry said, I think it's a girly thing . I'm going to put a roller blind up aswell .
