Part of the joy for me is that I can eat the sort of veg I can't find in the shops. You get sore eyes looking for kohl rabi round here! Generally speaking, by the time broad beans get to the shops they are old and tough, and as everyone has said, no sprays and fabulous flavours. It is, as the young say, a no-brainer.
