annoyingly I haven't even managed to do much productive at my desk.. too preoccupied pining for being outside and surfing here (which is just making me pine more )I have a dream:
a dream that, one day, chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

I've got a week off work and the OH's got me doing cleanups in the house. I keep peering outside at the sunshine but my protests are falling on stony ground. I've told her tomorrow is allotment day though(no doubt it will pee it down all day!)My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

I've been stuck at my desk for most of the day, thinking roll on 4pm
Just had two weeks off, but could do with another week to get over the two taken off.
Most of the two weeks taken up gardening and moving 2 tonne of crazy paving for a new patio, god it was hard work
Loved every minute gardening but having to carry each piece of crazy paving through the house, bring in sand and slabs, glad I don't do it for a living

After a longish jaunt around western Europe (Scumball 3000), spent a quiet day at home. Cut the grass, cleaned out some containers, repotted some salad plants, sowed Squash, Water melon, spring onion and moved some broad beans out from the mini-greenhouse thing. One thing i did learn is that peat pots or similar are the way. Getting the salad plants out of the cells was a nightmare. But the squished ones did taste good.

I can concur that it was gorgeous today. I spent 3 long and wonderful hours putting down my weed fabric for my paths; and eating sandwiches and crisps on my lottie; and planting out some shallots from last october.
I think I even got a little bit sunkissed. Spuds are going in tomorrow.
Roll on summer

Get to be a bit more smug today struck a deal with my boss whereby I work up time in lieu then get to leave at half 10ish on the last thursday of the month to go help a group restoring a local garden (bridge end garden in saffron walden if anyone knows it?) so today is my favourite day of the month and my allotment is right next door to the gardens so when i'm done working there I can potter up to my plot and do a bit more just hoping the weather stays as good as it is nowI have a dream:
a dream that, one day, chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

Slightly miffed as it's been a good week, and even the evenings have been fairly decent, but what with one thing and another I haven't been able to got down to the plot.
Saturday's weather looks promising, but we'll see I guess. It's due to get colder again apparently, so be careful people!
Edit: It's absolutely chucking it down at the moment.Last edited by HeyWayne; 24-04-2008, 10:27 AM.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

Practise makes us a little better, it doesn't make us perfect.

I was supposed to be off all day yesterday, but was still editing my thesis - got it to binders at 3.30 and legged it to get new key for plot so had 3/4 of an hour there in the late evening. I may take the morning off tomorrow if it's fine and spend it there (pub for the afternoon for definite!!!).
