  • TV/Radio Ads

If there's 1 Ad you could have taken off the TV/Radio, what would it be & why??
Mine would have to be the one's for feminine hygiene products. I don't know anyone who likes the ads for them. Is there really a need for them to be on the telly?

I will have the Chrysler add where it says in tiny letters at the bottom of the screen that the Car shown is the US model....ok so you are advertising somthing that cant be purchased over here.

Also what is that Cadbury advert all about??

daineal, I would go along with you on the 'feminine hygiene/ items. Whether it be sanitary towels/tampons, or even knicker liners in case you sneeze and (in your old age) spray a spurt of unrine into your knickers. Certainly the knicker liners are completely unnecessary.

Certainly with the 'female' sanitary items, it is something necessary, but does not need to be splashed all over national TV. Whatever method you use (towels/tampons) is personal to you. What you use is what you use, and no amount of TV,etc advertising is going to change that. I think the word offensive is not too strong a word to use against these adverts.

Has any body seen the latest Fiat ad advertising there latest creation you would think they would use a right hand drive car for tha advert in the UK or do they know something we do not .
As for the feminine products it is pleasing in a odd sort of way that holding your water is not just a mens problem .

Do I have to pick one?

Julie frickin Andrews singing whilst some pseudo bakers pretend to make a car out of cake. A car, med of caaake?

Any of the penta-bladdy-peptides type ads (female cosmetics in general actually).

Confused.com, Sheila's Wheels, Churchill (oooh, no!) and a whole host of insurance/loans/moneysaving ads.

That chuffin annoying double glazing dude, the one that seems to only be able to SHOUT AT YOU!! YOU KNOW THE ONE, SHOUT AT YOU.

Kerry Catatonic and the Iceland adverts! Please, someone do us a favour and terminate her contract!

            All the Halifax singing ones.

All adverts where the advertisers cannot be @rsed to pay for English actors and make a really bad job of dubbing over the foreign speaker.

There are more, but I'll leave it at that for now.

On the flip side, there are several out there that I quite enjoy.

I don't watch adverts anymore. As my time is so preciouso I now put anythign I want to watch on the record box thing, then when I watch it I zap the ads and the boring bits. I can watch an hours prog really quickly and get back to my garden, lol.
And I haven't listened to commercial radio for years as I can't bear the ad breaks every 3 mins (seems like).

Maybe I am just 'ad' phobic!

I hit one of those new Skoda's the other day with the lorry - had to get the Fire Brigade to wash the cream and the jam off the road.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

Don't mind the ads for M&S food - can't abide the hushed, seductive tones of the female voice over - makes me cringe every time.
