  • Gardening in the dark!

I went out for a few mins once the children were in bed. This was at 7pm. I fnally came in at 9 but only cos I couldn't blooming well see anymore!

The sooner we get light down the garden the better! Cable in in so just a matter of time. I did think about wearing a head torch but thought the neighbours might report me as a prowler, lol

janeyo -- no officer I am not a burglar I am weeding my asparagus beds lol

Ha ha ha, I was doing that the other night down at the allotment - 'just one more weed...' with the storm lantern next to me, and the dog whining to go home It's so peaceful down there at that time though, the birds all singing for their supper.... Bliss.

I do this all the time. A quick visit to the lottie turns into five hours and I only come home because I can't see. It does have some advantages, especially as evening is when the wildlife emerges. On Sunday night, when it started to drizzle I thought; 'Just a bit of rain, no problem'. By the time I heard the first rumble of thunder it was way too late, my coat and brolly were in the car and by the time I reached it I was soaked to my undies and so had no choice but to go home. The embarrassing part is that had I reached my coat before the heavens opened I'd have stayed and hidden in the shed until it eased, then tried to do 'just a bit more'. And I'm now planning on keeping a spare set of clothes in the car in case it happens again. Obsessed? Me? Never!
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Come on guys, you just aren't being fair, the birds are singing for their supper, and you're ferreting around in the dark. If you give them those last twenty minutes before bed they can get at all those juicy worms you dig up.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Tonight I was garening in the dark AND the poe=uring rain. I had my mac on, hood up, on a kneeler and thoght it was just spitting. So engrossed in what I was doing - when I stood up it was peeing down and I was absolutely soaked, lol

                Loved every minute

edited to say NOT loving the 14 gnatbites on the base of my spine that I must have got last night. There must have been a wee gap at the back as I was weeding and bending and the little so and so got me good and proper. My 3 yr old counted them this morning and then told everyone on our shopping trip all about them, lol

You'd have noticed it if you were in not so sunny south wales. I was struggling for traction on the roads for the volume of water. The gnats were obviously looking for shelter in any nook and cranny.

wasn't till I got a lottie that I found out that there appears (at least on my plot) to be a much less famous dusk chorus.. always enjoy that, very pleasant just me and the birds as the light fades..
                    I have a dream:
a dream that, one day, chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

We have a delightful starling in our back garden that is taking the pounds of me. It waits for me to relax in the chair then mimics our telephone ring tone, up down, up down like a blinking yo-yo.
