I think some people here tried it with children's names on courgettes (or was it pumpkins) - anyway, you can carve it in lightly when the thing's little and as it grows so does the child's name. Bet they still won't eat them though!

hayes garden centres sell them with names on them, its called something like 'grow your own name'

Never bought any as I thought it was a bit cheezy and you could always use a pen and write your name on your own bean seeds anyway.

Poor old bean, did anyone ask it if it wanted to be tattoed. I bet when it grows up to be a burley thing it will struggle to live down, 'mum' tattoed on its rear.
