It's a very small molecule that gives the smell - similar to that in onions - they reckon if you eat raw onion it can be detected on your shoes/socks. It's often smelly things that can migrate - have you noticed that if you take sandwiches in a poly bag in the same bag as a banana your butties taste of nana? Same thing. Small molecule can get through thingsWhoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I understand its a genetic thing. Only people with the right genes have smelly asparagus wee. My partner and I both get it but my house mate doesn't, so she tells me. I don't go around smelling other people's wee, that would be weird!
Didn't know about the raw onion thing though, it explains why Storm's socks are toxic most of the time.We plant the seed, nature grows the seed, we eat the seed - Neil, The Young Ones

Some people have an enzyme (can't remember which one, my biochemistry days are too long ago) which breaks down the smelly molecule, some people don't. As Lavenderblue says it's genetic whether you inherit the ability to manufacture the enzyme or not.Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
