  • Thank You Today....

I am constantly made aware every single day that there are now so, SO many new gardening peeps on this forum, that it's really very difficult to even say just a simple 'Hello' to anyone new here on The Grapevine, and we all do want to, desperately. Likewise......

When was the last time you actually THANKED someone?
    Just a simple thank you....

So I thought it would be lovely to create a specific thread for the purpose.
I Myself, would like to start it off with this.....

    * Two Grapevine Peeps have sent my cat a present through the post
(Hazel and moggssue are completely and utterly dotty, so dead guilty on this one)

    * Another 'in the know' (Peter) told me of half-price Pinot Grigio somewhere BEFORE I bought it at full price

    * special Scarey peeps en France drove for HOURS to pick me up at an airport, having only previously 'spoken' to me and Trousers on GYO beforehand and genuine hospitality there, waiting to be repaid at their convenience.

    * Pigletwillie and Kaz have not only been a brilliant inspiration to us with their garden and vegetables, but our 'Hug in a Mug' as well.

..... and that's only a tiny bit of what I'm thankful for...

    You?

    * Neel Tank, my dentist, for getting me over a 10-year dentist phobia and not hurting me and fixing me up to look lovely when I smile

    * Scareys for having me in August (am I allowed to thank forward?)

    * Wellie, Trousers, Hazel, Shirley, Madmax, JanieB for holding out hand of friendship to newbie Piskie

    * SarzWix and lainey lou ditto above

    * Snowdrop for having his boys put my shed up and well, for being the bestestestest husband in the whole world

There is more but my boiled eggs and marmite soldiers are shouting loudly.....

      My thanks go to...

      * Marmite, for having been invented

      * Toast for being such a willing recepticle

      * LadyWayne, for being the best

      * Anyone that puts up with me on here

      * Whoever/whatever is responsible for me being here, being healthy and happy

      * Whoever it was that came up with the idea of the Grapevine, well done.

      * Anyone that's helped me out on here, you know who you are, I shan't embarass anyone by writing their names, or leaving them off.

        Super thread Wellie.

        Here goes:

The lovely Wellie and Trousers and the other grapes we met up with at their gorgeous house - brill fun and can't wait to see if you will all come to our place!

        Madmax, just simply for being.

Nature, for the beauty and bounty - you can keep the slugs, snails and wasps though lovey!

And to all on here for their advice and friendship.

I always forget to thank my mum and dad who do SO much for me and my little sones, always dropping everything to babysit or mind them for an hour etc. It makes my life so much easier. My dad is stil willing to ferry us about too if we have a night out as we live in a village and taxis are extortionate.

I never thank OH for all the useful things he does round the home - he's just made an automatic pophole opener for the chooks so I don't have to get down there at the crack of dawn. How helpful is that!!!

Thanks to the people who sold us this house - we love it here even though we have muchus workus to do. (planning letter is due today to say yay or nay to our extension - eeeeek)

I try and remember to thank people on here for their good advice but if I don't THANKYOU VERY MUCH

So many people, such little space:

Thankyou Mummy and Daddy for everything, KK for being everything to me,
Adam and Tania for never saying "You're not my real Mum"

Thankyou Wellie for having the courage to come all the way to France to meet two strangers and Trousers for getting her here, and Hazel who made all the introductions. Anyone who hasn't met these lovely peeps, they are the best.

All of you on here for being wonderful, helpful and funny.

Thankyou to the French Health service who found and treated KK's ear melanoma within 6 weeks and the lovely nurses who come to our home every other day to dress the wound.

And, I'm with you on the Marmite, HeyWayne

Thanks to all on here for introducing me to the delights of GYO. Can't imagine what I did with my time before I started to spend every spare minute in the garden. And the sheer pleasure of eating crops you have grown yourself!
Also to my OH who puts up with all my "funny little ways". I love him deeply.
                  Do it! Life's too short

Both my Granddads, for giving me an early love of GYO, both my Grandmas for helping me appreciate the simple pleasures and for making my childhood so special in their different ways. A lady whose name I can't even remember, for allowing me to buy one of her fat little Labrador pups, which then grew into a beautiful, funny, enormous dog that I loved dearly and who is now sadly missed, though I will always remember him as one of the highlights of my life. My kids, grandkids and, of course Mr Bluemoon, for putting up with me, and all the grapes who have taught me that these computer wotsits aren't really that scary and are worth getting to grips with if you want to chat to lovely, like-minded folk.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Thanks to all of you for -being so entertaining- never joined any sort of on line forum or chat room before but since joining yesterday have spent 4-5 hours reading the forums! The ole man thinks I've got a secret internet lover, but I shut him up by allowing him to watch the snooker (but only cos GW has been sacrificed)
Thanks to my dad, who died this year- I miss him terribly, keep going to ring him and discuss the progress of our tomatoes- he usually grew different ones from me so we could swap ... gone all teary eyed. Speaking off toms, have gone completely OTT- about 50 extra healthy plants- if anybody wants some and can get to West sussex (Littlehampton area) they are welcome to them- might have to take pot luck though- lost the labels, so will either be Gardners delight or a mini plum that I can't remember the name of.
Thamks to NHS -for allowing me to retire early after years of nearly killing me- but letting me work part time afterwards & giving us the time to go off in our Romahome camper when the garden can do without me (Off to a farm site on Romney Marsh next weekend)
Susie (how do you add those funny little faces?

                          Suet/Susie,
You can add the smileys (funny faces) if you click on go advanced instead of post quick reply - the smileys are there on the right hand side. just click where you want to add them and then click on whichever one you want. I think you are only allowed 5 per post.

Thanks to my husband for everything he has done over the last week at a very stressful time for me with work (see Ofsted thread!) and for not really moaning about all I had to do and for not moaning last night when I got all upset (over tired!) when I couldn't find anything suitable to wear out for the evening!
thanks to the mean people that no longer wanted their cats and allowed us to have 4 wonderful characters over the last 8 years (one who sadly died less than a year after we had him): I love them to bits.
Thanks to my (foster) Mum and Dad for taking me on when I was too small to know what was going on and for treating me as their own.
Thanks to my inlaws and Dad who are always coming to our rescue to help with moving furniture, fixing cars, moving house, garden projects and the likes.
Thanks to whoever introduced me to the delights of gardening and to GYO. I love it!
Thanks to the Ofsted inspecter who said my lesson was good - you made me very happy!

Ooh! Thanks also to the people who have given me seeds over the last few weeks - I now have to hide the envelopes from hubby who simply does not understand the affliction: seed addiction!
