Yup, it's not an official bank holiday where I am, so I'm stuck in my office

My son is working, (double time, day off in lieu) my OH works every bank holiday, no overtime hours, no lieu days, they simply don't acknowledge bank hols where he works. He also works every Christmas (unless it happens to fall on his regular days off), he had Christmas day off last year and, by rights, should have it this year too, unfortunately the leap year has stolen it so I think it will be 2012 before it comes round to his turn again. He loves the job though, so I can't see him leaving any time soon.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Like Madmax I was working 9-6 today (same company - different branch), tho got in an hour early to get Cash reconciliation done before the store opened (as I always do), but was fortunate that I needed to pick up a bike from another store, which was on my way home, so left at 5pm, called at the other store and left them for 6pm, so home 40 mins earlier than I would have been!

No paid work today, but I've been busy at the lottment, and in the garden at home. The weather's improved so much that the guinea pigs weren't coping with the lawn so I had to cut it with the lawnmower - hard work!! Also put compost in the bean trench at the lottie, built a bit of a raised bed round the rhubarb to keep it tidy and so I can topdress it with compost and keep it in one place. Been digging, sawing, hammering and grasscutting and now I ACHE!!!!! Back to work tomorrow for a rest.

I caught the 02.00 ferry from Hollyhead to Dublin arrived in Dublin at 05.30 this morning . Drove across Dublin to the Liffey Valley shopping centre where I transferred my load into 2 rigid lorries for onward delivery. Then full steam up North to Lisburn to collect 5 pallets of potatoes from a farm and then to Ballyclare for 7 pallets of bacon . All taken back to our yard to be sent out on different lorries for final delivery to the customers. Finished ,lorry cleaned out and a big load of dirty washing home for 12.30.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.
