You know I'm a gardener because almost everything I do (even my tesco's shop) I think - how can I utilise this in my garden?

You can't leave home without organising the care for the garden while you are away

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

... you know the dates of the first frosts, flower exhibitions, what fruits and veg are in season etc, but keep forgetting your own birthday.
... you refer to children as "saplings".
... you brag about the size of the veg you've grown in the same way a fisher would brag about their catch.
... your ideal home would have an allotment/ garden bigger than the house itself.
... you own 15+ pairs of wellies, but no other types of shoes.
... you start to dream about plants, fruit, veg etc. (actually happened to me! )
... you look forward to the day slugs and aphids go extinct.
... you win the lottery and spend it all on seeds and a massive greenhouse.
... you spend more time in the greenhouse than you do in your own home.
... you check for new posts on "The Grapevine" at least once every hour.
... you prefer plants to pets.

Oh heck. I see a glut of fruit/veg and catch myself thinking "I wonder if I can make wine out of that..."
I can't pass a show of honeysuckle, roses or gorse without thinking the same...

... you google the fruit and veg mentioned in this thread and get annoyed at all the "irrelevant" serch results.
                ... you idolize Alan Titchmarsh.
... you've thought of at least 50 different ways to grow tomatoes.
... when you go to a wedding, you are more interested in the bride's bouquet than the bride.
... you find hand pollinating blossoms a bit of a turn on.
... you think "Apple" and Tiger Lily" are perfectly normal names for girls.
... you've named your children after plants or flowers.

If I've got to idolise Alan Titchmarsh I'm giving up gardening Definately, definately giving up

You come back from 4 days away - check your veggie patch THEN go and say 'hi honey, I'm home' to the OH !!

Whenever you are on holiday or a short break (especially when we are in France) you veer into every nursery or garden centre or open garden just for inspiration, ideas or something new and leave the non gardeners sweltering in the car for at least an hour. Something you wouldnt dream of doing to a dog.

...when you're on holiday you phone at least every other day just to check that your plants are being watered, and the tomatoes are being picked and everything hasn't died!

...for your birthday the amount of gardening products for presents outweighs all the others!

Trying to tame the mad thing called a garden and getting there I think!

When we go on holiday my OH is looking at the scenery, I am looking into everyones garden to see what they are growing.
I never come back from holidays without bringing back packets of seed.
Last year we went to Spain. In a garden centre I saw this great multable garden tool I had never seen at home. The down side was it had a handle that was far too long to pack in a case.I bought it of course and spent a couple of hours sawing the handle with the bread knife from the apartment and packed it safely in my luggage.
Tell me thats not garden madness.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
