When is a greenhouse a glasshouse and when is a glasshouse a greenhouse?

Obviously polycarb ones can't be called glasshouses, because they ain't, but mine ain't green neiver!

I know some people spend a lot of time in them, but do they really consider them houses?

    I'm having a moment.

I was giving my brain a break after my hour and a half phonecall to Germany. Trying to speak in simplified terms is harder than it sounds!!!

Grandpa was a tomato grower in Guernsey and always insisted that commercial ones were glasshouses and domestic were greenhouses...pedantic but true!

And for the non-builders amongst you its mortar between bricks NOT cement.

You don't know what you've started HeyWayne !

my OH manufactures glasshouses for a living and the only distinction he makes is that glasshouses are made from, yes, glass, so don't include the polycarb ones. other than that they are all the same and he calls them whatever the customer wants :-) I think people think it sounds posher when they are ordering a glasshouse??? who knows.
