I agree with Manda - call someone in, firemen are prety good at knowing where drains and stuck cats are - don't wait

2 of ours have gone missing for 2-3 days at a time ( locked in garages without food and water) and have been fine afterwards.
I'd pull up a chair near where you heard her- (she's probably been so stressed that she'll be sleeping now). Maybe if you talk to her you'll be able to pinpoint her location better.
Perhaps you could call in at your local fire station and explain the situation and they'll advise you what the best course would be. ( at least they'll be called out when they're quiet too!) Maybe one or two of those hunks might nip over to assess the situation.....
You'd have thought your neighbours would have left you their key for they day"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Location....Normandy France

I would definitely call someone in - either the firebrigade or RSPCA or Cat Resscue, or even all three! I couldnt stand by and do nothing if it was my cat though I do understand your reluctance when it isnt your garage. I agree with the suggestion to try next door to where you think you heard her in case the sound was travelling?
Do let us know whats happening - I feel so sorry for you and your cat xxxxLife may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

Thats a good point - call someone in. People like the RSPCA have special powers to enter property when an animal is at risk - I'd let them make the call if I were you. I'm sure your neighbour would rather have a small amount of repair work to do (especially as I'm sure you'd offer to help) than have a cat suffer.
Have you checked in the roof space? Some garages are double skinned there for insulation even if the walls aren't...

Sorry to hear your news. I would be beside myself if either of my cats went missing. (They are house cats though). Any news?
If not, I would put posters around your local area and through everyones letter boxes. I would also ring all vets and RSPCA to see if you cat has been handed in - also give them a poster.
Good luck.

Good news Tessa is alive, and able to run away from us, and meow!
I did try phoning the rspca earlier, but because there was no definite sighting of Tessa in the garage, and no noise from her today, they said they couldn't force an entry. Anyway Once Val got home I went round again with my son, and asked if she would let us investigate again, just us, so Tessa wasn't scared by unfamiliar voices. Dan got up into the roof, and looked about, to no avail, but when we went out to Val in the garden, we heard a faint meow.
To cut a long story short, there is a channel that runs the length of both garages, and she was in there. Problem was, as we only had access to one, we couldn't catch her, becasue she was going from front to back in the garage next door, then inot the channel again. I think she got up there using the ladder, and now has found she can't get down. I did say to Val about the fire brigade or the RSPCA again, but her next door neighbour is due home any moment, so she's a bit reluctant. We have put food and water up there, so she can come through and get it, and left her to calm down a bit. Now the access is cleared of boxes etc, Dan might be able to persuade her out anyway. Now I know she is alive, and has access to food and water it isn't so bad. If we can't get her out tonight, I'm phoning tomorrow. I'm still off recuperating from surgery, so I haven't got to worry about work.
Thanks for all the good wishes, and I'll let you know how things go
