Glad to hear she's O.K. even if you haven't managed to get hold of her yet. Cats can get into awful scrapes, we saw one in our street the other day who had climbed onto someone's house roof through the open attic window & was having to be coaxed back inside by the owners! When I was small our fluffy white cat went missing for days & I was heartbroken until the farmer from the end of the street said he'd found him stuck in one their greenhouses that hadn't been open, he must have climbed in through a vent & not been able to get out. Hope Tessa is alright, bet she won't be going back in there in a hurry!Into every life a little rain must fall.

Update on the situation - the neighbour didn't come back until very late last night, at 10.30pm I put a note through her door, explaining the situation and asking if we could have the keys to her garage to rescue Tessa today. I put my phone number on, and said she could phone me after 6am. I checked out her drive about 6.30 and her car was there, so I waited to hear from her. Bad mistake, she went off to work without contacting me at all.
I have the key to the other garage, Ian and Val's. Tessa had cleared the sardines we put up there last night, and had some of the water. I phoned the RSPCA again, but just got an answer machine, so I phone the cat's protection. She is loaning me an automatic trap, we put the food in and hopefully in Tessa goes. I just hope the ledge is big enough, but we will set it up somehow. I've picked up the food I took over this morning, which hasn't been touched yet, so she is more likely to be desperate for what we put down. The lady seemed quite concerned that she needed to ask for a deposit, but it seemed quite reasonable to me. She said there would be no charge, but I think a donation will be in order.
After feeling quite angry with the person for going off and leaving us for yet another day, I am now quite hopeful. The RSPCA did phone back too, and when I said about the trap, she said they had one, but it was out on loan. Shame no one mentioned the idea yesterday, we might have got her already. Never mind, fingers crossed for success tonight.
I'll keep you all posted.

Ohhh, good luck with the trap - hope it all turns out well for you. At least now you know where Tessa is and that she isnt hurt, just hungry and probably missing you and her cuddles. I think its awful that the lady next door has gone off to work without contacting you, but I guess that's some people for you.
Cats (at least mine is) are pretty resiliant creatures, I'm sure she'll be fine once she gets over the stress of it all and back to her old self in no time at all.
Good luck later on - I'll (along with the others on here I guess) be waiting for news.Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

I did tell myself that she might not have noticed it, but I was so depending on having access to both garages. Still, just picked up the trap and OH is going to set it once he's picked up Vicky from school. It looks really easy, but the lady made me practise 3 times, to make sure I'd got it rightI could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

We went across to check the trap again at 8pm, still no luck. We're going back about 9.30. Trouble is, we have to open the door, which makes such a noise, so we have to give a bit of time in between. I don't like the idea she might end up in there all night, but if we catch her, well, she'll get over it!I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
