  • Are squash seeds edible?

We've got an onion squash which has lots of big seeds inside. It seems a waste to throw them away, are they edible, raw or cooked?

    Yes squash seeds are edible.

    However....

I tried a variety specifically bred for seed usage, naked seeds n all that, got low yield and tried drying then in the oven, set as low as possible without going out, smelt wonderful, but they cooked and stayed wet, nasty mess in tray.

Ta Peter, can they 'air dry' and then eat them? They're sitting in the fridge atm, do they keep when dried?

What does everyone do with their squash seeds?

you get pumpkin seeds in a lot of these 'health food' mixtures for salads. I find they taste best when toasted under the George Foreman.
