I love the two terry's, its nice to finally put a face to a voice, just been watching him on chelsea. Strange how people never look like you expect them to. He didn't look anywhere near craggy enough.

He's very enthusiastic, which is a very good frame of mind, infectious.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I had no idea who he was, just watching Chelsea and said to LadyWayne "that's that dude from that programme!"
I was of course referring to The Big Dig, the programme I watched a couple of years ago which got me interested in having an allotment. I had thought about it before then, but only as a passing thought. Watching that programme inspired me to take the next step.

                Cheers Terry.

I (almost) never miss his slot on Jeremy Vine every Friday - love him, really enthusiastic and really enjoys what he does.

For those what don't know, he is a Valleys boy from the Rhondda isn't it there's lovely look you and he was answering a lady's question on why her spuds hadn't shown through yet ..... 'how deep did you plant 'em' he says 'oh about 1½ foot' says lady 'I'll send a team of Welsh miners in for you' ..... made oi larf

I'm just finishing the Terry Walton book "Life on a Hillside Allotment" ... tis OK. I was a bit shocked to read that he had TEN plots, all run for profit, not for his own use! (that was in the old days, he follows the rules now)

He spent his working life as a chemist, and used lots of chemicals to grow those ten plots for selling, but turned organic when it came to providing food for his own table.

BTW, if you want him to visit your plot, and give you some advice, fill in this form: BBC - Radio 2 - Jeremy Vine - The Allotment Doctor
