(((hugs))) for you and your son, a very scary thing indeed to happen. Glad he is able to move on so quickly, hopefully you will be able to rest without the guilt too, as it was not your fault, you can't have eyes in the back of your head

thanks Claire
Living in my house, i need eyes up my a***e lol!! he is fine, the police are due to come today or tom, but you know them, but one thing the lovely police lady did say is that on my road (its a very long one) there is a spate of large number of burgularies, great, but we are all alarmed and locked up so we are on the alert already!
charlie is getting his new bike on saturday and didnt disappear once today, so hopefully he will learn from this experience, hard i know, but a learning curve for him!

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx

obviously that great minds think alike - i also like the idea of a "grape posse", you could all come down the street to the park with spades in one hand and rakes in the other in order to get the little gits lol!!! imagine the scene, in fact dont, its quite funny, made me giggle for the first time in two days! - after the "war" you could all come to my garden and help me lol!

my son has aspergers as well and would of reacted the same way, im in a catch 22 situation do you teach your child the dangers and risk either him being on edge the whole time or decide to walk out of the house with a knife because a, every other kid is doing it , b, so he can procect himself, or do you say nothing, children nowadays no matter how they are, are just not allowed to be kids any more, my son just wants to ride his bike up and down the road but will push the boundries as to how far he's allowed to go, then the next thing he taken it upon himself to pop roun the shop on his own when theres loads of young teenage kids hanging round the outside of the shop spitting and swearing, and my son says the blasa thing "wot im ok i know what im doing " thing is i know he doesnt, i so wish sometimes he would understand the grey, and not just be black and white

Hope everything goes well with the police Su & that Charlie likes his new bike when he gets it! It's awful when any child gets bullied/robbed etc. but even more so when they pick on someone so trusting. Let's hope they get their 'reward' somewhere along the line!Into every life a little rain must fall.

i totally agree and also with SueA, thanks ladies, it is a nightmare, trying to give them a little freedom and to learn to understand the dangers out there, but not to also wrap them up in cottonwool.
How do we do it, i dont know, parenting is so so hard, but with a child with a disability i think its even harder!
