Rain rain and more rain

It was dry this morning so I thought I would spend some time at the Lottie,
hung up the washing and off I went, got there and wow the broadies are really fat, so picked some ,pulled a really big onion and some lettuce.
Then the heavens opened so went into shed made a coffee, still raining hard.
Rain stopped started weeding took jacket off, down came the rain again back into shed and decided to call it a day less than two hours there, jacket left on far end gate car right at the top of grass verge I am soked through.
Home now and its raining very hard.

Been like that for the past 3-4 days here. Dry today, but it's likely that it'll be raining again tomorrow.

Wish I had a shed to hide in!

Its been raining for so long now cant remember when the sun shone except last sunday.
I really need to get to the Lottie to do some weeding.

I managed to get to the plot on Saturday, since then its been a wash out.

this afternoon the sun is shinning with full avengence here,been out,got back and the green house said 47,it was very hot,quite a shock after all the misserable weather we have had recently,poor plants either get a roasting or a battering from wind and rain,but we will survive

Had a couple of hours down plot this morning. Finally finished getting ground spuds in, still got some to go in pots. Planted out some lettuces. Noticed beetroot and more pea seedlings poking through the soil. Came home for lunch just before heavens opened again.
Got pods on peas sown in guttering, didn't have any last year cos the pigeons got them all.
Got full waterbutts as opposed to almost-empty ones last week.

Well, it's good weather for me to habituate my frogs tonight! Rain has resumed.

At least we had some sun today here in lovely Beds and then rain, rain, rain again!!!

Typical - i know for a fact that my slugs and snails will be back later with a vengence!!

Started raining here again just as I left work, now p*****g down. I know we needed rain, but I think I've had enough now for a while.

This morning I planted out the remaining celeriac and the yacon, but it started raining about lunch time, and it's continued ever since. The garden path is flooded again, and when I had to go to the dentist the road we usually use was flooded, with the water extending into the fields either side. I thought ordering the nemaslug would stop the rain, but I suppose it hasn't come yet (I usually get a dry spell when I want to use it). The poor nematodes will probably drown instead!

It has rained so hard in meppershall that many of my plants have had their leaves shredded - pumpkins destroyed and sweetcorn flattened. Horsetail is happy.

Hi Petal

I worked in Luton and 2 years ago I remember my secretary [at the time] telling me her hubby's toms, courgettes and other veg all got shredded by the tremendous rainfall. It seems nothing much changes.
