That's really strange & must be very upsetting O.W.G. I would go with the theory that it might be something to do with disgruntled neighbours but there are some weird people out there & it might just have been a random attack. Try not to worry or take it personally but I can understand that you feel unsettled, I would too. At least the police know about it & maybe if they do ask 'door to door' it will put the culprits off doing anything else if they live locally.

omg i feel so sorry for you i would deffinalty go with the cctv idea even if its a fake one just to deter, also another theory without adding to the trauma do your dogs only bark at strangers coming to the house, some dogs only bark at strangers, if they hear or smell somone they know they might not bark, esh ive been reading too many novels, just a thought

What a horrible thing to happen! It sickens me that there are people in this world who could even think of doing such a thing.

CCTV would be a good idea, even if just for your own reassurance. Nobody should be made to worry about their property/animals when they're not with them.

It beggers belief that someone could do this without you or your dogs hearing anything.
They must have made some noise. Its really mad when something like this happens for no particular reason.
Hope you get it sorted, would love to see the angle the papers take on it and any outcome.

OWG, I am so sorry to see that - it does seem like mindless vandalism. I must admit, my first thought was also the neighbours who did the fencing etc - but that seems like sheer lunacy whoever did it.

Hopefully you will be able to do something fab with the garden once you've had a chance to think about it.
