  • I go away for just one day and 173 posts later..........

I cannot keep up with you guys! I have decided NOT to go away for a lovely two week holiday (or even for a shorter one week one) as it would just take too long to catch up with the posts afterwards!!! I havent posted much the last week as half term just seemed soooo busy and then I went down to Enfield for the day yesterday and the page tells me I last visited at 5.02 pm on the 31/05/08 - LAST MONTH! and there has been 173 posts! For once I thank god I didnt have too many replies so just had a look at the new unread posts I have "participated in" and I am afraid that will have to be that!

Hannah (tired after her couple of days at Nannies) has gone off to school. Daniel is asleep on our giant fluffy cushion - not well bless him. Been off his food for about 4 days now, was very "loose ion the nappy area" yeaterday (and I didnt have many spare clothes with me so poor lad was not as fresh as usual shall we say), we then didnt sleep very well last night and this morning he has been holding his ear saying OWWWW I will have to wake him just after 10am as we have a docs appointment in the next viilage at 10:20 - will update you all later.

Have done my hand in; knowing we would be out all day yesterday, we went hell for leather on the plot on Saturday. I have never earthed up spuds before but last time it was easy - just filling in the trenches with spare soil which was dryish but Saturday it was like working with wet clay and I was digging out the side and making mud pies up the side of the stems - which in all the rain last week had gone over the 4 inches we were told to letr them go before earthing up but still - prob done it so wrong! Hubby is now worried about the spuds now being too near the light and is going to get manure on way home each day to fill the trenches in - lol

I was then worried if weather would thwart my idea to cut grass today so we shared the task late on Sat - I did back (2/3) and Oliver then did front (with the steep bank - when I do it I nearly up up going headfirst down the bank with the mower!!!) Started a blog on here last week and will post more details of what we were up to (in the garden anyways!!!) on that.

Hope everyone is chipper and Ive not missed anything important by not catching up properly on the posts but I need to go and see if I have manged to wash smally stuff out of Daniels clothes - yuk!!!

    Hi

Sounds like a busy week. Hope Daniel is feeling better soon.

I also had last week off as we had my OH's 11 year old here - we had planned days out every day but the weather said otherwise. Of course, getting her out of the house is always a problem, being that they don't like to do ANYTHING at that age apart from electronic stuff. One good day of weather as well; but still managed to dig quite a few beds over once the rain had died down.

I've got laser eye surgery this afternoon; not sure if I'm nervous or not which is a weird feeling in itself. I've been wearing old glasses for 2 months now which give me horrible headaches so just can't wait to get it done and get rid of them. And just found out my OH is on London tomorrow so he can't take me in for my check up tomorrow - I didn't want to drive until i had been in again but i guess I'll have to see how it goes.

On the plus side of it all; I figured out why we have had no slug damage in our courtyard [which consists of decking, and various raised beds mostly made by myself]; - we have a resident frog. If I can catch it I'll let it out to freedom by the canal - but until then I'll enjoy the fruits of it's labours. Hurrah for frogs.

Oh, and I got my tax return figures done. Always good to get that out of the way.

Let us know if the little one is any better.

Edited to add; well, I was having the op - it's now been cancelled. Great - another 3 weeks of massive headaches. Not happy.
