I'm a caring sharing person, can't help it! I've had several "can't remember the last time you were off sick, why not take the day off?" comments this morning. I think they just don't want to get it.

Hope you feel better today. There's a nasty dose going around alright (both my oH and the toddler had colds over the weekend, I was threatening with it yesterday, but the toddler's escalating into a full blown fever bout and us ending up at the local casualty due to rubbish bank hol weekend GP cover, meant that mamma couldn't be sick - so I am doing a 14 hour day today so that I can "work from home" tomorrow, while OH and the toddler keep each other company today). rest up, plenty of fluids, and let Lady HW take care of you for a few days.

Does anyone know if manflu can be passed on over the 'net? My "a bit under the weather" has progressed to "death warmed-up". There may not be enough chicken soup in the world.

Just as the weather picks up as well.

You should be ok, mine was just a bit of a cold I think - still a bit phlegmy (great word eh?) today, but it seems to be shifting.

Actually slept well last night so I must be on the mend!

I do still have a bit of the Russian spy about me though.

Yup; they cancelled monday - and I could go to my local [nottingham] branch no sooner than 3 weeks time - so i got an appt on wednesday in Birmingham. So had it done then...problem is they said it would take 3 hours so my OH was picking me up about 5pm - but I was out at 3:15. Not one to hang about in the dark I half blindedly made my way back to the train station and bought a ticket; found the right platform, got on a train and got off again at Derby where my OH picked me up. I had tears pouring down my face every time I attempted to open my eyes - the other passengers must have though I was a right one.

Anyhow it is done, I can see again, I can drive again AND I managed to get my AS level photography exam piece done and submitted last night, what a week!

Just been down the garden and in the 4 days since I have been down there, strawbs have gone red, my early aurora tomatoes have one big red tom on it, the borage has shot up another foot with flowers everywhere, the onions have swollen and are now big enough to be eaten, the peas have flowers, one pepper in the garage has a flower coming, and everything else has just shot up. Absolutely fantastic.

Love being able to harvest stuff as I need the space for the next batch; going to move all the leeks that I am saving for seed into one little batch as well as the good specimens are all over the place - will free up loads of room.

Leek and potato soup for lunch tomorrow I suspect, with all the ones that aren't making it to the next generation.

Hope you are back to your normal self soon.

Is it contagious over the net? Cos mine, having gone away earlier this week, came back last night with a vengeance!! Coughing, spluttering, sore head and stuffed nose - great way to start the weekend, especially when we have to travel to Cork tonight to see my latest nephew (I reckon I might be staying outside the hosp though).

Can someone send some nice honey and lemon this way please?? (A limoncello would be nice too - I'm not driving tonight!!).

It must be just me that's feel absolutely fabulous then!!!

If it helps I can try sending out good healthy thoughts to everyone...

Just read that you are in Dublin; I've never had a trip to Dublin that didn't involve illness; and me being very very ill indeed coming home...
