  • New Forum ?

    Hi All.

I am new here and think it is a great place for hanging around gathering information.

I was wandering if anyone had ever thought of creating a new Forum / sub thread or whatever it is called from the main menu, solely dedicated to (Container Gardening Veggies) .

Although there is lots on here about growing vegetables in containers it would be nice if it was all in one place ??.

    Just an idea

I like that idea. I have been thinking of growing more stuff in containers so would appreciate a designated heading to go for. There is such a wealth of helpful information from all the experienced growers but it would speed things up to be able to go directly to the information without having to go through the search button. Besides which, you pick up other peoples' ideas just by browsing and noting what works for them (well I do anyway).

It could be very helpful as lots of people garden mainly in containers nowadays.

Excellent idea chilli gal, my decking is covered in pots so I would welcome it. Found out today we have moved from 10th to 9th place on our allotment list, only 4 more years to wait.
I'm new to veggies, but trying !

I think this has been mooted before but can't remember why it wasn't acted upon? There was a valid reason for it but I'll be blowed if I can remember what it was!

I like the idea, whether some of the information crosses over from gardening in a plot as well as in a containers I guess its probably true, but I think there are valuable tricks to be gained on a small scale. One thing no manual with tell you is how close to plant your spuds in a sack!

There have been many posts about container+pot growing/ balcony gardening posted on here. Have'nt the time right now to research it for you but take my word, its on there.

That is exactly my point,,100's of posts, but would'nt it be nice if they were all under one forum ?

I grow lots in containers on the plots. To be honest everything in them is grown the same as raised beds.

As for another board, well its a case of striking a fine balance of having too many of them. On that note things will remain as they are for now, its not hard to adapt any ideas for containers.
