Why do I taste Brazil nuts when I cough?

just eaten a brazil nut??! not getting that taste but can sympathise with cough,dont seem to go more than 2mins without a session~got so desperate bought some CovoNIAAA~dont bother getting,finished the bottle in 24hrs & cough just as bad!maybe we all got a computer virus!!

I'd prefer slightly salted macadamias.

HW - perhaps you are on your way to a summer cold or the like?

I often get strange tastes in my mouth just before getting ill. Or perhaps you have a mouth or throat infection causing this.

If it persists and causes undue discomfort - including worry - then go and see your doc or perhaps a pharmacist.

Hope it clears up soon. You weren't practicing for when you go on 'Millionaire' by any chance and all that coughing got out of hand! (quickly places hand over mouth and coughs politely).

Coming out the other side of a cold, had the fever, felt rubbish for a couple of days, had a snively nose for a day or two and been coughing since yesterday. I think I have it licked now, but just wondered why the taste...

A bit disgusting HeyWayne but the taste when you cough is probably from mucous lying in your chest since your cold.
Try inhaling steam to loosen things uo, then lie face down across your bed with your hands on the flloor and your upper chest titled down towards the floor.
Cough hard and see if anything comes up. Yuk - but you'll feel much better for it.

A good use for hyssop - a herb I love. Crush a few sprigs in a dish of hot water and put a towel over your head and breathe in the steam. Hyssop is said to liquify mucus which is probabaly more than you ever wanted to know! It worked a treat when my daughter had a recurring sinus infection. It's also great used with roast beef. Hyssop. Not mucus.
