    Started off well....

Saturday - shook off a hangover from Friday night, did some errands (chemist, garden centre, card shop). Helped OH on his capentry project, weeded 2 beds in veg patch, planted more sweetcorn out, weeded strawberry bed. Visit from OH's dad to say 1) he was emigrating and 2) OH has a older half sister he never knew about. Drank wine.

Sunday - Went to my sisters shop to help move things around and do some repairs etc. Had huge argument with her, she walked out of the shop leaving me and OH to tidy up. Planted up a couple of hanging baskets, thinned out some carrots, planted out some more strawberries. Weeded onions and peas, weeded greenhouse. Started to prune grapevine. Drank cider, watched film. Bed.

Not the bestest weekend we've had...

      Sat -
as Grannie minded the toddler, OH came back to bed and we got a lie in until 10am !!!!
Went to the farmer's market and got some lovely bits (including some chilli saussies to have with pasta and tommie sauce for dinner tomorrow) and had a yummy hotdog and coffee in the sunshine
went in to BIL and set up the house for new nephew coming home (so nervous he couldn't work the new tumble drier- he'd forgotten to plug it in!!)
went for a drive to let the toddler have some zzz's (after a 6am start!) - and saw a lovely cottage for sale (must make enquiries...)
called into my little bro's new apt and had coffee and his homemade rice crispie "slab" (think buns, but made as a solid slab in casserole tray )
after a quick dash around supermarket, back to IL's for tea and the toddler disappeared again (off with grannie and auntie)
made 6 nights of dinners for BIL's freezer and relaxed with glass of wine

      Sun:
      the toddler slept until 8!!!!
and we didn't need to get up until 9!!!
dropped dinners and more baby bits to BIL
had yummy dinner, including new potatoes (from local farmer) and our cabbage cooked by IL's
finished my knitting while OH and FIL watched the hurling semi-final (we lost - boo)
went into BIL for the arrival home of new nephew - FIL opened champagne (glad I wasn't driving!)
back to their's for tea, changed the toddler into pj's and drove back to our house (got stuck in match traffic so was a long slow drive)

This morning - as schools are finished, only got up at 8.30am and were still in at a reasonable time (what most people call starting time!!) - all shared my car as we are trying to reduce usage when possible, so nice chats on the way in.

I hope you're not talking about me anyway Piskie - cos ours actually felt really relaxing and quiet as everything was done at country pace.

No offers on the cottage yet, so may have a look at it next time we're down!! Then we wouldn't have to spend all weekends there rushing around at what everyone else thought was a frantic pace (and we thought was a crawl!!).
