I always believe in praise where praise is due, and that as well as complaining we should do more in the way of encouragement when companies/people get things right.
Fairly recently I have made a few complaints to companies when I have felt that the product/service is not up to my expectations. However, I have also sent emails of praise to companies when the opposite is true.
One such email was sent to a company that make herbal teas (my favourite is in fact their ginger, lemongrass and gotu kola tea) and this morning I received an email in return, thanking me for the encouragement and feedback and would I supply my address as they'd like to send me some free tea!
Be nice people - it pays.
