  • Liability insurance

We are a new committee and are just taking over the allotment shop, our site is approx 250 plots. We are looking at public liability insurance which the previous shop people did not have. Has anyone got any advice about which insurers to use and how much other allotment asscociations pay?
    Thank you.

Our Association has just recently had this forced upon us by the local Council stipulating we must have PL insurance in the Tenency Agreement.

We had to join NSALG which allowed us to insure our site through Newspace (39 plots) for approximately £55. The cost of joining NSALG was £2 per plot holder on top of this.

The only other insurers I've found that will insure an Association are the Allotment Council who charge £1 per head for membership and a similar amount to NSALG for Insurance.

    Both can be googled!

    I'm still looking though!
