Cucumers, advise needed.

I absolutely adore cucumber, in salad, in a sandwich, or just a great big chunk of it on its own. However my dearly beloved won't eat it as it gives her indigestion so she says. Can anyone offer any remedies to stop this happening.

Its normally the skin that causes indegestion or try growing a variety that is supposed to avoid this.

There are varieties which claim to have bred out the undigestability factor in the skin. Burpless Tasty Green is one of these.

But I agree. Cut the skin off, and that should minimalise the effects.
Unfortunately, I think Trousers enjoys the effects, which is why he doesn't cut the skin off...... luckily, he doesn't work anywhere near me when he eats his sandwiches.

Thanks all for the heads up, I'll see if I can find that variety Shirl, I normally cut the skin off and take the seeds out if I'm putting it in a salad, but it still seems to have the same affect on the missus. Not me though I love em.

Maybe that's the answer, you could try growing some 'Cucumers' - it could be the 'b' that causes the problem
