  • Can You Beilive it!!!

I have to post this anger and frustration! I know it has nothing to do with gardening but I know folk on the vine would want to know how I got on in my driving test today...read on...

Ok so I failed me driving test first time round many moons ago...so I rebook the test and have to wait 8 weeks to take the test again due to the huge waiting list. I went to the test centre today to find that my test had been cancelled due to industrial action - what and no one could be bothered to call me and tell me this???

I've now had my test rebooked by the DSA and guess what, it is now going to take place on the 7th September!!! I can't believe it. I am so angry! And who's to say that won't be cancelled because on industrial action as well or bad weather...

I called the DSA to complain and the guy on the other line was practically brain dead and couldn't care less.

Lots of sympathy would be much appreciated!

Oh dear, sorry to hear about that.

Surely it isn't too much to expect a quick phone call to let you know that it is cancelled/postponed - it would have saved you a lot of stress I bet!!

Good luck for 7 September anyway - that is my OH's birthday!!

happy gardening (take it out on the weeds)

Oh Esk! I am so sorry - all those nerves and now you have to wait so long! That is the problem these days! No-one - well not many - have any courtesy when it comes to dealing with the public! They just don't care because it does not affect them.

Never mind, bash those weeds and nettles (once it gets cooler if it is hot in your area) and pretend it is whoever decided to go on strike, the brain dead bod at the office etc. I am sure you will feel much better!

Remind us closer to the time and we will all hold thumbs for you I am sure!

        thanks...

I haven't been on the Vine for ages as I've been too busy practicing with my driving in every free second I've had...I feel like a stranger again.

Well my shouting and complaining obviously had an affect on mr braindead at the DSA as he just called back and said he's managed to find me a cancellation for next monday afternoon [24th]. So I've taken that and just hoping that when my OH gets back home he'll say that he's available with the car at that time...bad luck seems to be following me around, so I'm not hopeful...fingers crossed that I can do it next Monday, or else I'm going to go insane!

Better luck next time Eskymo, third time lucky (even though this one didn't count!) I think I would have been tempted to thump someone if they did that to me.

My OH had a screaming fit - quite like a terrible twosome toddler tantrum and I think that helped us both!

Well at least you got a quick cancellation - maybe the weather will be cooler then and it will help everyone's concentration?

                Keep practicing. Good Luck

                          ok then - I will....

by the way poultrychat - those potatoes I sent you were desiree and not pentland javlin - i got mixed up and forgot to PM you about it. I pulled my spuds up a while back and got a disappointing crop as they obviously weren't inthe gorund long enough - the second batch were a lot better though as I left them longer. Hope yours are doing well.

Sorry to here about that Eskymo. Enquire what the procedure is for claiming loss of earnings due to them cancelling & not letting you know - you probably won't get anything but it may concentrate their minds a bit
