A plant I have pulled out of hedgerows up and down the breadth of Powys, and burnt it to a cinder before, covering in tar, and burning again, Ragwort. It has the most beautiful yellow flower, although a bit pungent when burn't.
We've Mugwort, Belladonna and a few other 'wild' flowers growing in our garden, some of the older darker medicinal herbs are lovely to see, even if they've a bad name for being poisonous. A lot of the flowers we grow are grown for use in home made incense
I love em all but my favourite has to be Hogweed it is just so awesome.
The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.
I'm with the 'a weed is just a plant growing where you don't want it' crowd, if I like it, I leave it where it is! Had the kids at school weeding an unused plot today, when they asked which ones were the weed and which were the ones to keep, my answer every time was, "if it looks pretty, leave it where it is, if it doesn't, pull it up!"
Got some yellow poppies too, which I thought were beautiful, most of us left them be, then one of the kids decided not to differentiate between pretty and not, and pulled them out as they didn't have to bend far to get it
