Religious Propaganda

That's one thing that really gets my goat. Yesterday a chain basketball net we order off of ebay arrived. There were religious sayings printed directly on THE POSTAGE LABEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND! inside the package there was a packing slip with anagrams (of all things!) One was the word bible and then another with the name of their company spelled out with meaningless religious type words, such as, eternity, etc.,!!!! Anywho, unwanted religious pontification is one thing I really hate. Btw, do you have Jehovah's Witnesses in the UK?! The kind who break front doors by shoving in leaflets and also demand payment after they have "given" you a religious book. What I bunch of malarkey! Can you tell these people make me mad?!

We get them here, but usually the dogs come to the door too and the wimpy ones don't hang around.
Even though we tell them we're not interested, they usually stay a minute to give the dogs a fuss.

We do get JW, but less than we used to, and I've never heard of them demanding money. A pagan 'icon' on the door will often be sufficient to deter them (my sisters haven't heard from them since the 'green man' image was hung up).
There may occasionally be reminders about religious dates on 'franking' on a letter, and of course there are Christmas stamps which are sometimes religious, but if there is anything religious inside the parcel, the person sending it placed it there!

My parents are JW's and when I was a child I was one'obviously.Not now coz I smoke and drink too much ect.
When they come to my door I keep them talking for ages and tie em up in knots coz they can't answer my questions.

Now that we're out in the country we don't get them, (I only have four neighbors in sight) but in Nashville we had to have a rude sign on the door.

I knew a chap who kept a fez at the door just to wear if the JW's visited. Apparently they used to just apologise for disturbing him.

We bred Scottish Deerhounds and as the gate was some 200 yards from the house, we would wait till said callers were halfway to the house then let the hounds out. Boy those guys can run
