We don't seem to get JW's calling, I am rarely rude to callers unless I do happen to be busy. I always allow them to say their bit and if it is not of interest I say thank you but no thank you. Some cold callers are pre-conditioned to wait until they have heard no three times before they leave, its only if they continue to push their point, they get a firm NO.

I don't mind religion or others opinions though, I find that sometimes it smacks of double standards. Our local christian church is positioned on a road with a blind corner and high walls on either side, immediately proceeding this corner is a hill which stops you seeing what is in the road ahead. There is not room for two cars to pass, and you have to beep the horn before making the corner. The parisheners don't though park further away and walk they park as close to the entrance to the church as possible, making it highly likely their actions will cause an accident. Surely if you are christian of heart and mind, then these actions go against your religious beliefs.

I Live in the so called Bible Belt and I know that what they want is my money. 10% of everything I make. There are churches here bigger than the largest annexed school.

What I can't work out with JWs is why if they believe that the number of the "chosen" is fixed, do they try and recruit more people?!?! lol

I don't follow any religion but do chat to anyone who knocks on the door as I was brought up to be polite, it drives my husband mad, he tells me to just say 'No thanks' & shut the door!

I used to love baiting them when I was studying for my RE 'A' level - take them outside of the weeks bible story and they were flumoxed!

But the best one was when they knocked on our door during the wake after my Mum's funeral...lots of drunken Irish Catholics and (very sober) Salvationists - they couldn't get away fast enough!

Where we live now we get a lot of callers - the main people live just up the road - and it wouldn't bother me (I admire anyone who has faith) but I do object to their insinuations that I am a bad parent for not allowing my children to be indoctrinated in the 'right' way. They should have the grace to accept my choice as much as I accept theirs.

I can answer that one: The 144,000 will enter the kingdon of heaven. Now most of these places have already been taken. You know when you are born that you will be one of those.

If you are not one of the 144,000 but you repent your sins there is heaven on earth.

For the rest there is the lake of fire........

So I would recommend all non JWs to stock up on Melon seeds and tropical plants cos it going to be hot.

live and let live I say, If I have time, I listen to them, if I don't, I tell them so, and then shut the door. Mind you, I am a church goer, we don't cold call at all, and would not intend starting, but had my elder round today (he gives me the bottles from the nursing home he works in to recycle via a scheme at my kids school) and he helped me weed the path I was doing at the time.
I would listen to mormons, jehovahs witnesses, anyone, if they were willing to help me do the weeding!
