The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.
for me it was one of the best ones in a long time - the second half gave over a good bit of time to clips from Monty's time - it was the official goodbye I guess
Joe did some good stuff on the plot with the help of a couple of RHS guys and cooked and ate his first spuds - on site

Yes I liked Geoff but Percy was my mentor and I aspired to be like him.

St Geoff was the bestest, really practical, showed you how to do all the things in the garden and a good gardener, a real scrounger and recycler too, would have fitted in here so well.
Monty was almost getting there and then he got ill - shame, think he would have been up there with St Geoff.
Monty was my inspiration to properly go and grow my own as organically as possible this year, having occasionally dabbled in previous years. I love his enthusiasm, and how he can fall in the pond and laugh afterwards!! I'll miss him from the programme!!!

Whilst typing the above reply, I was probably supposed to be doing homework. My excuse: I'm hooked!
I thought it was a great episode last night too, Joe was a bit annoying for me - a first.
For me, Monty is the most inspirational gardener. I never really watched GW before is time being the brand new garden lover that I now am. I now appreciate why people are so fond of a particular presenter. Monty is the Don for me.
Will miss ya dude!
Raised glass from me (raspberry and pomegranate at this time of the day though).
