We had a lovely week in the south of France (well as much as you can have with an 11 month old who hates the car and a 3 yr old who tells you after breakfast tat he hasn't had any 'fun' yet today) lol.
My garden has gone wild! It was like coming home somewhere new. The chickens were fine thanks to the chap next door. The greenhouse was a little droopy (the plants not the frame) thanks to my mum who came every day but we had hot weather here so they obviously needed a bit more. She even saved us some of the strawbs each day and put them in the fridge for our return!
The melon looks a bit dead - was on the patio and is covered now in black flies, not like normal black aphid things, no idea what they are. I have sprayed them and we shall see what happens.
Since we came home I have eaten, potatoes turnips, courgettes, peas, baby carrots and salad all from the garden and it all tasted way better than anything I ate on holiday! We would have had more peas but it was too tempting not to eat them there and then.
The toms now have toms on them, the cuks have cukes, the caulis and calabrese have heads on them - it's all so exciting!
The aubergine had caterpillars on so I squished them.
All in all good and bad - but I was glad to come home to my garden!
