I know you can, but wondering what temp and for how long? going to need quite a few so no point trying to boil them all, as can only do 3 at a time in a wok lol

How do you sterilise jars in the oven?

Hi Claire, first wash the jars in soapy water and rinse in clean warm water. Allow them to drip-dry, upside down, on a rack in the oven set to 140C/275F/Gas 1. Leave them there for at least half an hour while you make the jam. What kind of jam are you making?Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.

Make sure if the lids have plasic coating stuff inside you pop them in boiling water not oven~have lost many a lid this way myself!the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Made Raspberry yesterday, got tons of blackcurrants so using 4lb of blackcurrants this morning to make jam, then going to pick the rest

my dishwasher is called Claire, has two legs and 2 hands! don't think I can put my hands into hot enough water for sterilisation!!!

I actually sterilise in the old baby bottle sterilising machine, and dry through in the oven. After they ahve already been throught the dishwasher cycle, I'm a bit obsessive I know but I don't want to find that my efforts are in vain.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
