Well it is WAY off topic!
I am trying to trace some family members who are of more 'recent' birth but proving difficult to locate.
I have access to an electoral roll from 2005 but the person I am looking for is not on there. After 2000 people could opt to not be included on the general 'for sale' one. I cannot find a death record for her or either of her parents on the Eng/Wal/Scot registers - nor a marriage record for my target.
Does anyone have access to the (pre?)2000 electoral roll which may have come with some old genealogy software way back? And who would be willing to do a lookup for me - through PM only of course - for specifics.
I have the dob and marriage details of my target's parents. The address where they were living when they evidently adopted her - but there the trail grows cold. Possibly with the target and family emigrating in the mid-1950s?
I have so far assumed that not finding a death record for my target 'may' be a good thing - however it is most unlikely that her parents are still alive with dob's of c1901 & c1905 respectively. There is also no marriage record for the target subject in Scot/Eng/Wal. My target was born, for sure, in 1934.
Does anyone have any suggestions or a course of least possible cost whereby I might locate this person. Still believed to be alive - perhaps still living in Scotland.
I don't think it would be beyond the realms of the moderators to say that the family names involved are as follows....
Scottish Side
Turnbull, Brown, Dickson, Mcleod (later Lymer, Morris), Lymer (kosb)
Cannot trace Lymer births on Scottish records....Eng/Wal?....maybe Irish? But military connections via male line. Believed to have served after WW1 and died 1920 - possibly Mesopotamia - Basra memorial? KOSB - 2nd battallion?
Should anyone here have these names in their trees - from around 1870-1945-ish I would be very grateful to hear from you. Also anyone able to do a lookup - you're input would be most welcome.
Thank You.
