Flowers has gone to Belgium

My daughter flowers went to Belgium yesterday with the school. Normally she doesnt suffer with travel sickness but yesterday she was sick all the way to Dover, then they had to get on the ferry. She sent a couple of text to me but then her phone ran out of battery ( prob using it to listen to music instead of her I Pod ) Last night one of her friends let her send a text from her phone saying ' they arrived about 8pm ish ( they left here at 6.30 am ) Having a great time miss you lots dont worry about me i will be fine ' She has her charger with her but not sure if they can use electric they are staying in a hostel. We put credit on her phone last night hoping she would be able to text us.
Miss her like mad cant sleep, roll on Friday when she gets home but as I will be at work all night I wont see her till Sometime on saturday.
This is the first time she has ever been abroad.

Sure all will be fine but I know that won't stop you worrying or missing her!!I'm dreading mine hitting the age of overnight school trips.Wouldn't normally encourage wishing time away but hey roll on Saturday!!

Try not to worry Jackie. Being away from home is all part of the growing up process. You'll see a difference in her maturity when she gets back. But I do know how you are missing her.

She has been away before, in year 5 she went to Dartmoor for a week but thats just up the road from us, in year 6 she went to London for a week, and she has stayed with grandparents and friends, its just that she seems to be so far away.
Looking on the plus side I can stay longer at the Lottie !!!! I dont even have to pick up my grandson today.

When mine first went to France on a school trip she couldn't stop talking about how big the gob-stoppers were. So much for cultural exchange! She's 14 now ... last week she was in France for 10 days on a language-exchange, back one night and then off to USA for a couple of weeks to visit a friend who's parents are posted out there. All right for some!

Makes my week in Scotland in a couple of months time sound unbelievably pathetic doesn't it? It can only do her good Jackie. And she might exchange a gob-stopper or two on the way!

Nearly forgot flowers came home safe and sound albeit tired last Friday she had a wonderful time in Belgium, ate loads of chocolate and brought some home for her mum.
She slept most of Saturday and didnt want to do much over the weekend.
Just got the school holidays to look forward to from today.

Glad she enjoyed herself Jackie. You reminded me of when I went to Belgium with the school when I was 10, mum was really reluctant to let me go & thought I would be homesick etc. I was fine & had a great time but mum was a nervous wreck all the time I was away!
